Managing Director, 2008-present, Fine & Performing Arts Center – Moraine Valley Community College / Palos Hills, IL / Perform management duties for the building and performing arts programs in two theaters and an art gallery.  Duties include hiring, budgeting, accounting, bookkeeping, marketing, grant writing, programming, box office management and management of full-time and part-time staff.  Curate, negotiate and book artists for an annual season of presented performances.  Serve as the college liaison to area arts councils and networking organizations.  Work with the college foundation to plan annual fundraising events

 Executive Director, 2004-2007, Rochester Opera House / Rochester, NH / In charge of all management duties including hiring, budgeting, accounting, bookkeeping, marketing, grant writing & fundraising, programming, box office management and management of staff.  Additionally, serves as principal artistic director for the self-produced theatrical offerings at the theatre and primary curator for a season of presented performances.

Owner/Founder, 2003-2008, TAHensel Enterprises, Inc. / Farmington, NH / A company which produced musical & theatrical events and served as an artist’s management service.

Co-Owner/Co-Founder, 1996-2003, LightLines Publishing / Portsmouth, NH / Duties divided between maintaining a private practice as Feng Shui consultant and life coach and running the administrative aspects of the company.  Duties included graphic design & layout for all PR materials as well as Seacoast Spirit newspaper, web design and maintenance, employee relations, payroll, accounting, bookkeeping and all administrative functions related to the operation of a small business.  Authored and co-authored several books, CDs and audiotapes on self-help and empowerment topics.

Co-founder/Artistic Director, 1993-1996, Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival / Harrisburg, PA / Co-created and founded the company, from initial vision through non-profit incorporation and board development.  Primary artistic manager and director for all Shakespearean productions as well as a second season of non-classical shows.  Elected to the executive board of Central Pennsylvania Theatres, the steering committee of the Pennsylvania Festivals & Events Association and the corporate boards of The Popcorn Hat Players Children’s Theatre, The Chamber Singers of Harrisburg and The Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival.

Executive Director, 1994-1996, Very Special Arts PA / Harrisburg, PA / An organization promoting arts by, with and for people with disabilities.  Primary administrator, hired to troubleshoot and restructure the organization, including board development, fund-raising, fiscal management, grant writing, programming and publicity.  Liaison and arts advocate to state and national legislative delegations.

2013 – present: Adjunct Professor of Humanities at Moraine Valley Community College

1994 -1996: Adjunct Professor of Theater at Harrisburg Community College, teaching Intro to Theatre.

1991 -1992: Assistant Dramaturg at The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC.  Assisted the accessibility director in the creation of programs for people with disabilities, focusing primarily on the creation of audio description scripts.  In addition, taught Intro to Theatre to Congressional interns from the University of South Carolina.

1991-1993: Graduate Assistant of Theatre at University of South Carolina, assisting Anne Dreher.  During this period also assisted the Director of Development, co-coordinating special events, receptions and fund-raising for the department.
